NEW PRESIDENT IN IVORY COAST INSTALLED BY WHITE POWERS

Alassane Ouattara and his Zionist wife, Dominique, were seeking my assistance,or maybe my silence, in his effort to become President of Ivory Coast. I applaud Laurent Gbagbo in his efforts to stave off imperialism in Ivory Coast, one of the few African countries that has not one iota of a relationship with the U.S. military. However, Democracy Now, FOX, CNN, AP, Reuters, and all the rest didnt tell you that when they ran their many stories about Ivory Coast.

AFRICA BEING RIPPED OFF BY EUROPEAN AIRLINES

He noted that when African airlines train skilled manpower, they are poached by European and Middle East airlines, leaving the continent with inadequate technical hands. He said that this has contributed in the airlines in the region not rising to compete with the mega carriers in technological know-how and in successful airline operation. "As other continents grow in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), Africa should also be given the opportunity to grow and skilled manpower developed in the continent should also be allowed to stay and develop the industry in the region. Africans need to lead the development of Africa , that will be a great thing for the continent," Zwane said.

PRESIDENT OBAMA MOVES FORWARD WITH INTERNET ID PLAN

The Obama administration said today that its moving ahead with a plan for broad adoption of Internet IDs despite concerns about identity centralization, and hopes to fund pilot projects next year. It offers examples of what the White House views as an "identity ecosystem," including obtaining a digital ID from an Internet service provider that could be used to view your personal health information, or obtaining an ID linked to your cell phone that would let you log into IRS.gov to view payments and file taxes. The idea is to have multiple identity providers that are part of the same system. Administration officials plan to convene a series of workshops between June and September of this year that would bring together companies and advocacy groups and move closer to an actual specification for whats being called the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, or NSTIC. During his speech, Locke lashed out at the "conspiracy theory set" who have criticized the proposal. A column in NetworkWorld.com, for instance, called NSTIC a "great example of rampant, over-reaching, ignorant, and ill-conceived political foolishness.".

AWAKENING FROM OBAMAS SEDUCTIVE SPELL

President Obamas 2012 re-election campaign, expected to cost more than 1 billion dollars, is underway. Given incumbency and likely opponents, he will probably win. Of course ZNet readers understand that wont make a whit of difference for most Americans. But if you know someone still slumbering in an Obamamania-induced trance, I have a guaranteed spell breaker. Paul Streets book, The Empires New Clothes: Barack Obama in the Real World of Power, demolishes any remaining misapprehension that Obama is anything other than a Wall Street military-friendly, seductive-sounding servant of concentrated wealth and power.

AL SHARPTON AND MSNBC SHRINK THE BLACK AGENDA

In the two hours of MSNBCs corporate-sponsored “Black Agenda” featuring Al Sharpton and Ed Schulz, hosts and guests mentioned the Pentagon, its multiple wars and trillion dollar budget not even once. In their imaginary world, these have nothing to do with the funds not available for Medicaid, Medicare, education, jobs, or social security. The “black agenda” as handed down by Rev. Al is to shut up and support the president, thus limiting and dooming black politics to irrelevance.

The book is scheduled to be published on Monday, and Mr. Marable had been looking forward to leading a vigorous public discussion of his ideas. But on Friday Mr. Marable, 60, died in a hospital in New York as a result of medical problems he thought he had overcome.

CYNTHIA MCKINNEY ON OBAMA

Some people, to this day, remain tricked by the salve of words for the wounds inflicted by our President. Others have begun to sink into despair while some search for answers. U.S. FOOD COMPANIES SHRINK FOOD PACKAGES AS THEY INCREASE THE PRICE

U.S. food prices have been rising in the last year, but it seems the growth is only just beginning. A sharp jump in commodities prices this year will soon result in sticker shock for American consumers. Large food companies have recently announced that they will raise the prices they charge grocery retailers for commodities-based products. For example, a chocolate bar will cost more soon: Hershey last week announced a 10 percent increase for most of its confectionery goods.

LIBYAN REBELS: DEPENDENT MINIONS OF U.S. AND EUROPE

The rebel rejection of an African Union ceasefire plan in Libya was to be expected, given that they are backed by the firepower of the Euro-American military colossus. In a real sense, however, “the rebels are not in a position to accept or reject anything,” having “chosen to become soldiers of an Arab counterrevolution in the service of imperialism.” While western pundits scoff at the African Union as a “club” serving the interests of the continents rulers, the rebels are mere minions of “the most dangerous club on the planet”: NATO.

INTERNATIONALLY DEVIATED, CORRUPT AND PERVERTED BEHAVIOR OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES

The Telegraph report republished below will come as no surprise to those who have followed U.S. "foreign policy" as its been executed over the past 300 years. Interference in the domestic affairs of other countries, instigating unrest among their people, regime change, supporting coups, dictators and juntas, targetted assassinations co-opting legitimate dissent in foreign countries and outright war are all trademarks of Washingtons belligerance unrelenting intent to dominate. U.S. instigation of and support for the coup in Honduras last year, their continuing military threats and strategic and financial support for internal attempts to overthrow the democratically-elected government in Venezuela and their deep involvement in the uprising by a bourgeois element of the Iranian population last year all serve as recent examples.

U.S. ARMING OF REBELS IN LIBYA OR ANY COUNTRY IS INTERNATIONALLY ILLEGAL

The US is likely to be in breach of the UN security councils arms embargo on Libya if it sends weapons to the rebels, experts in international law have warned. After Hillary Clinton said it would be legal to send arms to support the uprising, lawyers analysing the terms of the UNs 26 February arms embargo said it would require a change in the terms for it not to breach international law. "The embargo appears to cover everybody in the conflict which means you cant supply arms to rebels," said Philippe Sands QC, professor of international law at University College London.
